Ainscough Crane Hire’s Preston depot recently worked with Aggreko, a supplier of power generation temperature control equipment, to assist a client whose production had stopped due to a broken chiller.
The customer required a 300kW chiller to connect to its existing air handling unit (AHU). After discussing their requirements with Aggreko, a solution was identified and Ainscough was enlisted to help install the unit.
Ainscough’s team used a 40t crane to lift the chiller into place, with the work delivered by Thomas Harney (Crane Operator), Colin Pierce (Appointed Person/Lift Supervisor) and David Brinsley (Slinger/Signaller).
Within two hours of the lift, the chiller was connected and commissioned, with the AHU able to return to being fully operational.
Paul Haigh, manager of Ainscough’s Preston depot, commented: “Much like Ainscough, Aggreko is a company that is well suited to quickly responding to its customers’ needs. This was a relatively simple job that was delivered efficiently and safely through great planning and teamwork.”
