The UK’s leading crane hire firm, Ainscough Crane Hire, has celebrated the launch of the UK’s first Liebherr LR1700-1 Crawler Crane with an open day at its Leyland depot.
Unique in its size and offering, the LR1700-1 offers the lifting capabilities of a 750tn crane, whilst operating with the transport costs and size of 600tn due to its amalgamation of modern technologies, ultimately allowing for capacity to lift beyond its weight-predecessors capabilities. Ainscough’s decision to make a significant investment in its heavy cranes operations comes as the company looks to diversify its lifting portfolio. As the only crane of its kind in the UK, the crane lends itself to a unique array of jobs and will be available countrywide.
Throughout the open day, existing and new customers were able to come and examine the crane, with a view to understanding its ability and how it might fit into future construction plans.
Attendees on the day included representatives of Balfour Beatty; BAM, BBV, Beaver Bridges, Galliford Try, J Murphy, Select, Volkerfitzpatrick and Story.
The new LR1700-1 is now fully commissioned and prepared for its first job, with staff trained and ready. If you have a job in mind for the new crane, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Ainscough team.
Andrew Spink, operations director – Heavy Cranes at Ainscough Crane Hire, said: “The introduction of the LR1700 to Ainscough’s represents an exciting milestone for our Heavy Cranes team. We’ve been looking forward to the launch event for some time. It was a fantastic day, and we enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities that this crane brings.
“It really is a unique crane – the lifts it can achieve will really allow for the team to flex our expertise in planning and execution. The crane itself opens a number of doors for us, and the investment in what is a UK-first was really a no-brainer. We’d like to thank everyone who came down to see it in action and look forward to getting started with the LR1700.”
