Ainscough Crane Hire partners with The Lifting Academy Ltd for our competency assessments.
After successfully completing the CPCS technical test the candidate is awarded a Red CPCS Trained Operator Card. This card is only valid for 2 years. To upgrade to a Blue Competent Operator card, the cardholder must achieve the relevant NVQ shown below within the 2 years validity of the card.
NVQs are competence-based qualifications that are a mandatory part of the Construction Plant Competence Scheme(CPCS).
In order to achieve an NVQ, the candidate must be able to produce real-life work-based evidence such as RAMS that they have produced or evidence such as jobs sheets, timesheets, crane/accessory certification, records of briefings, etc – in fact, any evidence which proves that they do the job on a regular basis and to the minimum required industry standard.
In addition to documentary evidence, the candidate will need to undertake an audio/video recorded professional discussion. Simulation of work activity cannot be used except in very specific and exceptional circumstances.
